Retail $30. I bought a case of this wine from Last Bottle Wines over eight years ago, and this is the first note I have written but it is also the last bottle I have in the cellar. What happened to the other 11 bottles? I have no idea. Even though this bottle probably should have been consumed a few years ago, it is delightful. Still vibrant fruit, nice acidity, and balance, just a delightful quaff. But more than what is actually in the bottle, pulling the cork reminded me of Ray Taldeschi, truly a salt of the earth kind of guy and multi-generational farmer in Dry Creek Valley. I've written quite a bit about that encounter and it is a shame these wines are no longer being made.
We had two bottles with sirloin steak. The wine did ok but the wine was a touch thin on the front; lots of fruit but it didn't all come together. If I had drunk it blind, I would have guessed it was a Western Washington wine. There was a bit of green pepper and olive in dark berries. Tannin on the finish was medium and smooth. I'm giving it a bit more time to see how it forms up. Both bottles were very consistent with one another.

Enjoyable with usual cab flavors but a bit thin on the first night. However, the wine opened up and improved markedly on the second night to exhibit more complexity. Still medium bodied with medium-ish tannins, so different from "big bold" Cali cabs. At LB price point, very good QPR. 87-88 first night. maybe 90 second night. 88-89 pts.
