On the nose, tomatoes in a glasshouse, blackcurrant leaf, gooseberry. Fresh and green and makes hou want to drink it. Much more fruit on the palate, tropical fruit, passionfruit mingles with lemon and prickling acidity. Crisp. Good length.

From selected lots, this pale yellow-green wine is a step up from Kim Crawford's regular Marlborough Savignon Blanc bottling. While in many ways similar in terms of its gooseberry, citrus, pineapple and dried herb profile, this bottling offers a greater degree of depth than its less distinguished brethren. Solid in the middle and without noticeable alcohol (12.0%), it finishes long and crisp. This quality offering will have broad appeal and is worthy of its price. Drink now-2017.
