Double decanted, lighter in color than many older Burgundy PN. Aromas of perfumed red, aromatic forest-floor. Light to Medium-bodied palate shows tart red cherries, medium acidity and tannins persist, light weight. Some length and some residual oak on the moderately long finish; still has room for maturity

Medium hazy brick red in color. Lifted aromas of perfumed red fruits (morello cherries, cranberries), aromatic asian spices, forest-floor and a touch of green leaves. Medium-bodied palate shows sweet-tart red cherries/currants, hint of savory brown sauce, medium acidity, oak still present, drying tannins on the medium finish where a hint of the green note shows up again. Given the horrendous vintage this was surprisingly pleasant.

Tasted over 2.5 hrs and day 2, bottle from secondary market -moderate bricking -warm rich wet soil sousbois earthy herbaceous cherry; candied cherry on day 2 -med acidity, med/med+ weight dense hearty one dimensional mature cherry earth, med+ dried out tannins and some residual oak on the moderately long finish; even more dried out to the point of harshness on day 2 -no surprises here with '04s dried out tannins and the rusticity of Clos Vougeot from pre-'06 Faiveley, fully mature now

Venturi decanted plus 40 minutes. Purple colored in the glass. Smelled like Strawberry, Cranberry, and Red Currant. Medium body. The wine has very polished texture with a medium to long finish. This was a great surprise given the vintange and the fact that Faiveley has many offerings. We drank it alongside Merry Edwards 2005 Olivet Lane which was great but a little to overextracted and so the Vougeot was definetly more elegant and round. Both were great with a magret...
