  An epic dinner of classic wines: This pours light ruby in the glass, vaguely cloudy with a watery rim and flecks of pink. The nose opens slowly, grudgingly showing sweet cedar, mulch, cherry, black currant, some light mushroom development and a whisp of menthol. The palate is still fairly youthfully structured showing medium tannin and medium acid. The finish is modest in length but reveals layers and complexity that show promise, centered in the sweet cedar and mulch of the nose. I think the table hoped for more from this bottle and while perfectly fine it wasn’t bringing the aromatic fireworks tonight.
