Blackberry, ripe plum, sweet, high acid. Tastes younger than its 10 years of age. Long, varietially correct finish, some herbaceousness. My thoughts, in sequence were: "tastes like Russian River Pinot... no, too much acid: Oregon... as if made by a Frenchman... like an Evening Land..." which I then recalled was, indeed, associated with Dominique Lafon.
Enthralling aromas of ripe red raspberry, cherry, and a hint of wood are very foucsed and precise. This is a stylish Burgundy, with detailed raspberry and cherry flavors, and a finish that has an acidic (maybe even a green) streak. This is in need of a few more years, I think, and while it is polished, I suspect that the acidity may never fully sort itself out.
