About two years since the first time I've tried this wine, and it's moving along very nicely with at least a half-dozen years ahead. Very pretty aromas, which open up a lot over the course of the evening to show elegant floral and spice tones on top of bright red fruits. On the palate, the tannins provide plenty of structure (still not silky, but not quite grippy), vibrant acidity, nicely balanced. Lots of sweet herbal and earth tones to accent the crisp red fruit. Structured, lively, brisk, fresh, full of flavor. Big hit with dinner and friends on New Year's Eve.

Fun Saturday with a few French Bottles: Lovely nose, floral perfume and bright red fruit. Harmonious palate with dusty tannins, bright acid, a silky mouthfeel with lots of vibrant red cherries, some granite and loamy notes. I'll revisit next year or two, this seems like one to drink while the 2012s are sleeping.

Domaine Alain Jeanniard (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): So perfumed, floral and elegant on the nose. The 2011 is just singing compared to the 2012s, which were full of potential but a bit hesitant. Pure and elegant on the palate, long and silky and full of red cherries and vibrant minerals, complex earthy and rocky elements. Structured yet refreshing and quite open. Plenty of time, but seems accessible now.

Nice fruity wine, dark red berries and very easy drinkable. Not really any Gevrey-Chambertin character of barnyard and the likes. It lacks some identity of Terroir I think. But a nice wine to drink now, no problem.
