(A) Small glass. A low profile nose of mixed berries and mineral. Rather dark and structured on the palate with medium acidity and a grainy finish. This will require several more years of cellar time. 91+

I had high expectations for this $444 wine...The colour is a medium+ garnet. The nose is not very distinctive, quite closed and not very complex. The vinification/fermentation is probably done in whole bunch, because the woody aromas are overpowering the palate. Black pepper on the finish. Good length. As you can imagine the wine didn't live up to my expectations...Burgundy can offer the best wines in the world or like this one, the worst QPR. You can find many higher quality Pinot Noir in the Okanagan for a fraction of the price.
Took a long time to open up. Nose and palate are dominated by spice, new oak, purple fruit and black fruit. Its not a blockbuster wine probably due to the vintage. But it has good depth and stuffing. Relative to other malconsorts, it seems like its relatively accessible in its youth.

Domaine de Montille Cellar Visit and Tasting (Meursault Burgundy France): Tasting at domaine. 50% new oak, 2/3 whole cluster. Fresh red cherry with great brightness. Some berry hints. Good spice, great overall balance. Soft and almost accessible today. Very fresh, vibrant and elegant. 93-94 point potential.

Purple flowers, dense berries, wet stone, spices, hint of farmyard. Rather closed. Really deep yet not even close to its readiness. Wait 5 years.
