The "Clos" dinner - aka Burgundies from Clos, or "walled" plots (Bar-a-Thym, Singapore): Young, fresh and primary - this did not feel like a Bourgogne approaching its 20th year. The nose grabbed you immediately, with raspberry ripple and other sweet, almost bubblegummy red fruited aromas, all this lined with some of Leroy's herby accent. Very similar profile on the palate, maybe shading towards strawberries, and more of those herb and spice notes. There was still lots of acidity on it, which gave wine a very clean, clear feel. A tad sweet and simple overall, but still a lot to enjoy here.

This wine has made a hugh change in the past year since I last had a bottle. It has softened up a great deal. This wine has always had a hard edge to but now that is gone. It has finally matured, the fruit is more up front, and secondary flavors have emerged. I like it better now. Guess I drank the other bottles too young. I find it pretty amazing, given the level and vintage, that it took this wine so long to maturem

Like previous taster, lots of seepage and mold atop the cork. Wine has great color, and opens up quickly in the glass. Aromas are predominately barnyard funk, with some cherry cola underneath. On the palate, the barnyard notes are less agressive but still present, and the fruit shows more. A nice wine if you are doing duck or game, but too earthy for the sushi we were having. Very rustic style, but still a decent bottle in the right circumstance.

Opened and almost done in one night. opens up for more complexity. Light fruit and all.
