Medium light ruby with perfumed nose. Lightly ripe red cherry fruit with good acidiity, earth and elegance. Good whole cluster structure. 12.25% abv. Too bad the producer is no more. Excellent and at peak through 2023.

Medium light ruby. From the notes, it would appear there is a lot of bottle variation (only 3 barrels made) but this bottle was very good. Rich but still fresh red cherry fruit with a sense of place - clearly New World without being jammy or cloying. Good whole cluster structure. 12.25% abv. Drink now -2023. Too bad the producer is no more.

I absolutely loved this wine a little over a year ago. This bottle did not resemble that first bottle. The fruit showed thinner and oddly under-ripe which didn't work with the stem character. Just a wine out of sorts. Hopefully a bad bottle or awkward phase and not a wine in decline.

BYO Blind Tasting and Dinner (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind. I thought this considerably older, but when seeing it from 2013 thought it a failed science experiment with too much whole cluster and too little acidity producing a precipitously tiring Pinot Noir. An off bottle perhaps? If not, this was an 80 point wine tonight.

Low ABV, silky, fruity, balanced? Yes! Paired with the intoxicating (stemmy?) nose, this is a slam dunk.
