Inviting expressive nose with ripe strawberry, game and menthol notes. On the palate, overwhelmingly juicy with fresh acidity. Tannins are fully integrated. Good finish with decent length but a slight alcohol touch at the end. Ready to drink and much better than many.

Final notes on this wine (before I get into my jammies - very cold here in Brisbane - 12 degrees - I shouldn't feel cold, coming from the Uk, but I do).
A very satisfying wine, chunky and as the night wears on even chunkier. I have great respect for this particular wine, and actually for French wine producers in general. There is great quality from the Loire to the Rhone.

Nothing has changed. The wine is still where it was an hour ago or more.
So is it possible that this transformative potential within red Burgundy may depend on the district from which it comes? In plain English: Chambolle-Musigny has that capacity for internal change; red Beaune, it seems to me, does not.
But all great wines, of course.

Well, this is truly fine wine. Very complex on nose and palate. Smoke and bacon, dark soil. But it is the texture that takes the order of the day. Absolutely mouth-filling, with gentle acidity.
I opened this wine two hours ago. It will get better - most red Burgundies need a lot of time; indeed, they transform themselves through time (Bordeaux seems to get there faster).
Back later.

Plenty of spice. Tart and tannic. A little thin.
This one wasn’t bad but it wasn’t for me.
