A little sweeter than I prefer, but oh the depth of aromas and flavors! More time in the bottle definitely gave this more weight in terms of mouthfeel and finish. Drink in one sitting with family or friends; definitely fared less well on DAy2.

Slo-oxed for 15 minutes. Red fruits and some earth on the nose. Black cherry, raspberry and cranberry dominate the medium bodied palate, along with spice, some earth and touches of minerality. The acidity was balancing, and any tannins were completely integrated. Could hold but enjoyable now.

Riper and sweeter fruit than the first two wines and clearly high-quality California. Seemed integrated and lacked fresh vibrancy, so figured a little bit of age as well. I was thinking RRV, probably single vineyard. The warm 2015 vintage seemed about right. Knowing who had brought this, I figured $100. Not a bad guess it turned out. This was consensus favorite of the tasting, though one person found it to be too ripe for her tastes.
