  • First bottle was gone...almost like soy sauce, salty, not pleasant. But, pulled a second, fearing they were all shot, and found it nice. There was still fruit, and still a bit of that Washington austerity in earlier Cabernets--sort of viney, vegetable, but not in a bad way. Certainly time to drink.

  • Bright disc. Moderate sediment (definitely decant). Deep garnet with red rim. After 60 minutes in decanter, the wine shows moderately intense aromas of black fruit and chocolate. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and heavy, somewhat coarse tannins. The flavors are somewhat unidimensional and mirror the nose. Medium, slightly dry finish. I suspect that the tannins will ultimately outlast the fruit on this one. This is in stark contrast to my previous tasting 2/23/06. Drink 1/10-12/15.

  • Very very good...little to add to other reviews. Deceptive, in that for me it's one of the first WA CSs tasted fully mature. Has smoothed out, yet solid fruit...we often find WA CSs a bit tart and fruit harder to find. This came across, if blinded, as a very typical CA kind of CS. We really enjoy and have some to go. We won't save them purposely.

  • A bottle was taken from my personal cellar to the home of Jim and Kris McMillan (to consume while watching "American Idol"). Although a formal tasting note was not made, it can be said that the wine showed excellent fruit, ample but very supple tannins and overall good structure. It really showed no signs of age, tasting very youthful. It was an absolute "crowd-pleaser." I think that this wine will drink well during a window longer than initially estimated.
