Community Tasting Notes (22) Avg Score: 90.9 points

  • Prior bottle was just over a year ago and my notes were very similar. Nose continues to show red cherry, earth, rose and vanilla notes. Medium bodied with red cherry upfront, perhaps a bit softer now than before. Some black cherry and red raspberry notes through the middle, but don't as distinctly as previously. Tart red cherry, tannins and acidity on the backside and floral and mineral notes through the finish. Overall, not quite as balanced as previously and it seems clear that while it's holding up, it is slowly starting to fade and fall out of harmony. Now is the time to drink this wine as additional time won't be beneficial.

  • Lighter in body than some of the other Peay variants. Good balance , fruit though a touch simple. Soft inviting nose and easy to drink
    89-90 for me.

  • Prior bottle was almost a year ago and my notes remained consistent. Red cherry, floral, earth and vanilla notes on the nose. Medium bodied with a mixture of brighter red cherry and softer, slightly deeper black cherry both upfront and through the middle. Touch of red raspberry through the middle contributes additional depth along with the tart red cherry notes on the backside. Finishes with balanced tannins and acidity along with lingering floral and mineral qualities. As compared to my last bottle, mid-body has opened up a touch and the wine overall shows slightly better integration. Should continue to evolve along these lines and I plan to open my last bottle in December 2021.

  • Red cherry, floral, vanilla and earth notes on the nose. Medium bodied (13% ABV) with red cherry upfront that starts off as soft and open, but picks up more brightness towards the middle. Good mid-body density and adds light raspberry and some black cherry elements. The black cherry towards the back contributes nicely to the sense of depth. Tart red cherry on the backside, along with balanced acidity and fine grained tannins through the finish. As always, this wine represents good QPR with fruit showing well and a well balanced structure. May be able to integrate just a bit further and I'll open my next bottle in Q3 2020.

  • Big fan of this. Medium bodied, ripe (but not candied), clean, good finish with aromatics that open up with time to reveal cherry and mineral notes. Would re-buy. Balanced at 13% ABV.
