Pulled cork an hour before dinner, the wife said first taste was quite powerful, but the wine softened over dinner. Really good, some liveliness, and maybe a bit of Brett. Very nice, and fun to drink, with one more bottle, from a garagiste shipment years ago. Yum.

Not enjoying this quite as much as the 9VA, but it is still a solid wine. Ruby to garnet color. Smells like dark and dark red fruits, dry leaves, graphite, black tea, orange peel, crushed rocks, earth, and a touch of floral. Medium body and finish, high acid, with flavors of dark fruits and strong minerality—I mean really notable mineral core here that lingers.

Look, I know that Cornelissen’s wines are sometimes a bit weird/too funky for their own good.
But this is drinking incredibly well. Pure, clean dark fruits with melted tannins and enough acidity to keep the whole thing interesting. Probably the most interesting Sicilian wine I’ve ever drunk… great stuff and at its peak.

A little less funky than some of the FC wines we’ve had over the years, perhaps because it’s a few years old and mellowed out? Enjoyed it with food (meat loaf - but of course just about anything tastes good with meat loaf). Perhaps I should be storing these wines more instead of drinking them as soon as purchased.

So good. Powerful. Vanilla, Cinnamon on the nose. Strong blackberry. Some mushroom- soy sauce flavor. Long pepper finish. Chewy
So much sediment- have never seen so much in a wine.
