Side by side Rouget Echezeaux 13 blind - CLB clearly the upper hand vs a very reduced Rouget that was entirely unyielding and simply hard work. The CLB Eche 13 while displaying some gorgeous core of cherry fruit and mineral poise felt a touch young / closed at this stage and similar to my experience with Reignots 13 from a year or so back it's probably a wine I would put back in the cellar for another 5 years to let the structure soften.

Consistent in flavor profile with other 2013 LBs. Not as broad as the Reignots. outstanding, but not as finessed or sophisticated as the DRC.

Drinking very well indeed, both juicy, rich, chalky and very elegant; the wines from this adress can be oaky, not this one, everything is in place. Drinking window wide open.

A very nice wine, but it does not deliver what one could expect for the price. Very balanced, focused and fresh, it has a rather light body, and maybe a slight excess of oak. The finish is also a bit short. Nice wine, but very bad value for money.

LB visit. Vosne nose, almost creamy texture. Preferred 13 Reignots alongside.
