Modestly oaky, but in the right way. The nose has a flinty quality and a bit of citrus. This has balanced, but prominent acidity -- it's very well balanced with good weight and more of that flinty minerality. In some sense, this is a far more modern style of white Burgundy than those pre-premox, and this bottle comes across quite Roulot-like. I'm a big fan of what Lafon is doing these days...

Plenty of butter but not overoaked or in a bad way, just opening, fresh herbs. Needs air. Depth and power in palate, tangerine and more butter. Serious wine despite its youth.

Drank it blind Not the deepness and elegance of Yves Colin Morey's Meursault Charmes 1er Cru drank before. 93-94 Young but very accessible. Powerful aciidty

La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Vertical. Long and dense, even if less perfectly harmonious now. More to come. Another atypical 2013, but that's what makes the vintage so interesting.
