A nice ripe Pomerol at the sunset of its career. None of the vintage right-bank superstars, but always worth a look for. Double decanted and started drinking after three hrs. Very nice nose with honeycomb, truffles and plums. First some harsh dry tannins and a bit rustic in the finish. This all was mellowing with air, after 30 min the wine had a velvety texture and was full of sweet ripe fruits. Very elegant and fine. Blossomed beautiful over a further hour, then slightly drying out and fading. Drink now-2020.
