  • This wine is in a beautiful place for me right now. Its nose is expressive and its fragrant aromas of berry fruit, leaves, charcoal and wet leather carry on into the medium bodied and roundly shaped palate which additionally shows earthy minerals, fine acidity, caressing texture and firm grip on the decently long finish. Very good.

  • This is such a perfect wine: balanced, nuanced, a true complement to the meal, not showy, yet requesting some thoughtfulness. The flavors are distinct with sandalwood, raspberry, sweet plum and graphite lifting to a pleasing herb garden and chocolate finish. (Taken from my notes of several years ago, but still spot on today.) I wish I had boatload of this! Some fine sediment. 12.5% alc. With real osso buco (veal) and pasta. Highly Recommended.

  • A generous amount of funk on the nose, while bright and juicy on the palate. Disjointed at first, but balanced after two hours of decanting. Enough of a tanic backbone for game meats. Would recommend drinking the last couple of bottles that may in your cellar.

  • Sometimes the wine is right. Sometimes the setting is right. Sometimes it doesn’t make a difference. After a day of stupendous views while grinding out miles on a bike trail ending in an exhausting sprint for the last mile, perhaps anything would have tasted good. This, however, tasted perfect. A rich and fulsome nose of sandalwood, raspberry, sweet plum and graphite that lifts to a pleasing herb garden and chocolate finish. Odd though the finish of herbs and chocolate may sound, every drop made sense. Some fine sediment. 12.5% alc. With real osso bucco (veal) and pasta; an incredibly perfect match. Usually, I shun braised meats, but this is the most delicious I have ever had. Highly Recommended.

  • This is great. Still juicy and fresh, with nice leafy aromas and really great balance of everything. Good persistence on the palate, too. Not a great year, but really good wine. ***
