Had this over the weekend at Joel Robuchon in Vegas. Paired it with our two appetizers: ossetra caviar with soft-boiled egg and crispy potato, and langoustine ravioli with black truffles and foie gras butter. Perhaps it was the magical food pairing but it seemed to be the best white burg I'd ever had (of countless white burgs). Perfect balance of body, acidity, fruit, minerality, with an incredibly long finish. Not even a hint of premox (reported by last two CT reviewers) and the somm said this was the 11th bottle opened of a case they'd purchased (they had featured it in their grand cru tasting, unbeknownst to me when I ordered it), with all the others being great as well. I was simultaneously sad and glad finishing the bottle. Sad it was gone, but so glad I had the good fortune to drink it.

what an absolute priviledge to taste this. This has everything a white wine could offer. Incredibly complex aromatics, white flower, corn, popcorn, citrus and exotic fruit plus a tiny hint of oxidation. Not the most concentrated wine, but within a 5 percentile range of top burgundy. acids high. This is in the perfect spot to drink, as ponsot makes these without sulphur or new oak. As for critisicms of ageablility: piffle- why go through that masochistic trouble of ageing it when they are perfect now

Big Bottle Lunch: Oxidised. Could tell it was high quality underneath but the premox cut out the enjoyment and appreciation
