From La Petite Montagne owned by Domaine Lafon, which previously went into the village blend; however, Dominique experiments different techniques under this label. Shorter élevage and plots on the upper hillside create a wine of real tension. Lemon, gunflint, river stone, medium-ripe fruit, oyster leaf, backward minearlity. Crazy concentration and sharpness on the palate, filled with ultra high vintage acidity which balances the otherwise fat and oxidative Lafon style; perfect marriage, long long finish with deep spice at throat. Really broad and mouthwatering. Crispy acidity lingers forever. Very very impressive for this vintage. 93-94

On the palate, the grapefruit, lemon, guava, honeysuckle, wet stones and smokey flavours are very intense and dense, with subtle oak undertone. High level of mouth-watering acidity. Pretty persistent 30+second finish.
It is rather pleasant to drink now after 15-30 minutes of aeration.
Looks promising. Will revisit every year to monitor progress.
Further note: I have been keeping this wine in the fridge (vacuum pumped) and having a small glass of it for 5 days in a row. The flavours mellow out nicely and gain complexity gradually without turning into vinegar. This is rather impressive.

At Oceana, NYC -- Instantly gratifying out of the bottle. Minerality in the foreground, but also lots of rich butter, cream and honeysuckle. This is outstanding.

This is a chunky, big 'ol butt meursault, and as backward a young white as I have had in recent memory. I'd be curious to learn what is done stylistically to accomplish this. My strong recommendation is to hold for at least a year. It offered only a faint glimpse of it's potential. Something to look forward to!

Very light pale lemon in colour.
Pronounced smell of oak and smoke.
