  Dark berry , violets, tar, and black licorice on the nose. This has softened and settled into its skin since the last time I had this. Mid weighted, with a softness and suppleness to its fruit and palate coupled with acidity that gives it lift and freshness. This is about as seamless as dolcetto gets. A lovely, effortless wine made for the table. Terrific with Neapolitan pizza. Drinking at peak and while I suspect it will hold, I see no reason to have to wait.

  A really good Dolcetto. Fresh, with lovely cherry and black berry aromas, but with roundness and good minerality

  P&p. Deeply earthy/rocky, slightly smoky and savory, herbaceous/floral, dark fruit aroma. Similar flavors, with fairly strong, grippy tannins, and good acidity too. Some noticeable bitterness. Comes across as serious; wine for grown-ups. Somewhat disjointed and challenging at first, but comes together and smooths out with 90+ minutes of air in the bottle. Characterful and delicious wine. Best with food (worked well with roast blood sausage).
