Decanting is really advised here at this stage or to be frank a wine to be forgotten for another 5-10 years. The quality is there the elements too and the wine felt very well made but was just closed and not delivering to potential especially ba pedigree and price tag. Felt like a 91 but frankly one to be left alone for a decade as it felt quite the backward wine.

En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Sweet black fruits, a little peppery underpin, new oak but they are all operating separately from each other with this bottle. All the band members are there, and they know how to play but not together yet. I wonder (as it's already got 9 years under the belt) whether it will ever come together.

Checking in— 3+ hour decant and yeah it’s very young and very tannic. Not much to show at this point, mostly smoke, black pepper and some subdued fruit. Hold, or really don’t buy at all because there are too many better wines at its price point. Jaboulet, I think, is yesteryear’s news. Really nothing impressive since 1990. Young or not.
