  • Still fairly dark and youngish looking purple. Quite young still on the nose with juicy purple fruits, blue plum, spice and slightly toasted oak aromas. Medium-full bodied, off dry, good extract and a moderate finish. Still crunchy purple fruit on the palate, no tannins, good acidity soft and dry finish. Similar flavour profile as on the nose. Decent and pleasant, but nothing overly special.

  • Malbec tasting session: The appearance is clear and medium (almost deep) purple in colour. Tears are visible.

The nose is clean with medium(+) intensity aromas. There are well-defined aromas of oak (chocolate, vanilla, cocoa powder) and black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant). The wine is youthful.

On the palate, the wine is dry with medium(+) acidity, high alcohol, and full body. The medium level tannins are ripe and velvety in nature. The flavours have a medium(+) intensity and show notes of black fruit (blackcurrant, subtle blackberry) and oak (chocolate). An additional oak note (vanilla) builds on the finish. The finish has a medium(+) length.

This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have a great balance with the alcohol and the acidity. The velvety tannins have a good balance with the acidity. The oak treatment is well-integrated and supports the primary fruit. In its current state the wine shows primary and secondary characteristics. The wine is enjoyable and has a finish with great length.

The wine drinks well now, but has potential for ageing. The fruit concentration is great, and the tannin and acid structure should support the wine as tertiary notes develop.

  • THey are behind. This goes up in altitude. The tart cranberry remains. With a bit more richness across the palate.
