Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 91.5 points

  • First night: very ripe and mature in the nose. Dark berries, characterful acidity but not much depth or complexity. This is below expectation. Maybe breathing and a day in the fridge will unfurl the best of it. We'll see. 86

Second night: improved very well. No over ripe notes, has gained grip(maybe a tad too much) and shows no well but in need of time to soften the tannin structure. 88

  • Nice aromatic nose of berries some sweetness, berries on the palate with some chocolate/licorice and a touch of vanilla, good acidity and tannins absorbed not much length, but a good drink.

  • Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #025 Rioja (By MN): Beautiful bouquet with ripe dark and red berries, leather and stable smells, vanilla, mint, chocolate and autumn forest. Very inviting. On the palate ripe dark berries, sweet licorice, autumn forest, herbs, vanilla and chocolate. Beautifully fresh acidity and round tannin with a soft bite. Overall a beautiful and harmonious wine with a good length. Can last another 3 – 5+ years.
