10 years after Riesling tasting - 2010 (Restaurant Holz und Feuer, Kirchheim, Germany): *** brief impression from tasting event, no detailed tasting note *** Glass: Gabriel Standard and Sophienwald Bordeaux Bottle opened at noon, double decanted. Drunk about 8-10h later. Clear, medium golden color. Ripe fruit and herbs in the nose. On the palate it showed, why I put the Schütt in a flight with the Nonnenberg: Lean, very mineral, wonderful pressure, tension and depth. Very good balance and length. Citrus notes, herbaceous and spicy. Beautiful Schütt with some ageing potential. 93

My last. Crisp focussed apple, hints of aromatic fruit (esp pineapple) and a tad of citrus. Steely core minerality and a dry finish. Still excellent but distinctly lighter-weight than earlier outings suggesting to me that it is at the end of its plateau. Drink up over the next 12 months or so.

Broadening out with added couple of years since last note. Ripe eating apple and lemon zest with steely mineral core. No hint of diesel. Nonetheless was grippier chilled directly from the fridge rather than after a few minutes in glass which suggests to me approaching end of plateau. Cutting my drink-by recommendation to 2020 (-2yrs). However: enjoy!
