Classic Syrah nose of cracked pepper, smoke, olives, and black/blue fruit, with a woody caramel note in the background. The buttery caramel note is more prominent in the palate, where the the savory notes are out in front of the fruit. Tannins are relaxed and the acid is juicy. I want to really like this but the buttery taste on the palate is slightly off putting.

This opened nicely - higher toned than typical syrah, I suppose befitting the cold climate at Alder Springs, but with a nice touch of olive and something floral. After 3 days however, this is something absolutely unique. The acidity still there, but surrounded by a powerful and unmistakable flavor of smoked meat - beef rib off a Texas barbecue pit…

Decanted, open up over about 45 minutes. Light to medium bodied, a bit more heft in the taste than the nose. Recent notes capture the flavor profile very well.

Beautiful meaty nose, dark fruit, a touch of spice, medium body, smooth tannins, nicely balanced across the palate, solid finish.

PnP. Really nice Syrah with secondary flavors. Lighter than some of the other Bedrock syrahs, but I really enjoyed it.
