Aged Riesling? Not usually tried or favoured but this would please most pundits. Certainly not straw in colour. A certain golden hue. But the age and depth of the wine proves itself. As u would expect for the age not a fruity wine but certainly elegant. A reminder that I need age more Riesling. Less semillon.

The best of 6 bad bottles. Burnished yellow colour. Slightly candied lime nose. Most of the 6 were badly oxidised. Auction buy so could be a storage issue.

Winestar Offline (Paddington, Sydney): This is starting to drink nicely now. Yellow in colour, there are some developed aromas on the palate amid the lemon and toasty/cheesy notes. Lots of prickly acid around the edges of the tongue. It’s phenolic and powerful – would pummel most chardonnay’s in an alley-fight, that’s for sure. No hurry to drink.

NobleRottersSydney - Partner's Dinner (Tetsuya's, Kent St, Sydney): Pale straw. Gentle, very pure lime & lemon zest nose. Lightly minerally also, the palate shows fresh grapefruit flavours and bracing, but not overpowering, acidity. Bone dry and almost spritzy, yet there was no sensation of out-of-balance. Distinctly racy & refreshing overall.

Full-on power on the palate. Very good length. Has taken on some secondary development. Drink over the next 5-7 years.
