  Man I should have read my last notes !
  
  It never opened up like it should have, I m an idiot ! and I knew it ... as the guts Said it but I wanted to have some Rabat for the last days of 2023, and this wine means a lot to me... I could not go for 2010, nor 2013, and ended up on that one which is ... closed as hell !
  
  The nose is fragrant and has a lot of herbal, minty and heavy character, but being in winter closed it even more than in September, and the wine does not even give that much balsamic or eucalypt nose !
  
  Palate opens a bit more that time, with less strict tannins, but still big core, and a great acidity ! made for the long haul for sure !
  
  Again, I m an idiot !
  
  Still one of the best estates around Barbaresco, and when you think about it I bought it very low compared to nowadays prices !

  Piemonte Visit ... end of summer 2023; 8/23/2023-9/25/2023 (Piemonte Alba area): 92/94
  
  The wine is in a strange state right now, showing exquisite nose, complex minreality, and deep notes of balsamic, medicinal herbs, sage, perfumy mint and euclypt... evolving and changing most of the time
  
  On the other end, the palate is tight and a bit strict tannins in the mouthfeel, with long and savory taste, salivating and freshly intriguing. It is a dissociated wine so far, with a perfect Nebbiolo nose, great acidity and tannins, but does not opens up and stays on the closed side on the palate... Probably leaving it another 5 would be best to soften again....
  
  Still a fantastic nose of Rabaja, ... only for that the wine is worth the try ! It is again lovely !

  This wine made a huge step up from 2018 and is in a perfect spot at the moment. Very long, very nice tannins. It gained throughout the evening and probably would have continued. Open at least 2 to 3 hours before. Only 2 bottles remaining and I feel a bit sorry about the ones that are already gone.
