{Bought on release; forgotten; 1st of 6, PopNPour} Short note - like Bob H I forgot I had this wine. Opened it thinking it would be past prime but Golly it was good! Let the bottle warm up (initially too cold at refrigerator temp) and it held up at room temperature until finished 8 hours later. Remarkably good and great QPR. No hint of being mature and it held up incredibly well. Wow.

Moving boxes around in the cellar, and I unearthed this wine and a 2015. I don't usually hang on to my Boulay Rose' this long, although I will age rose' from Pibarnon.
At any rate, this is light-colored - I just drank the 2018 vintage of this wine in the last week or so, and that wine was noticeably darker in color.
This is past peak, but still pleasant, if somewhat "sedate". Citrus notes and acidity, but the fruit has receded into the background. IMO, if you still have this in the cellar, time to start thinking about drinking up.

At fours years past vintage, this wine has really come around. Very enjoyable and, as the British say, moreish. Bouquet of red berries and flower petals. Pleasing and mouthfilling with a long harmonious finish. When this was young, I found this rather unyielding but now it is rounder, fuller, and very satisfying.

Light peach-colored in the glass; nose is nothing to get overly excited about.
Crisp & dry on the palate - on release, this wine was fairly taut, but at this point it has started to unwind a bit. Refreshing, with good acidity. I had it tonight with an Asian stir fry and was surprised at how well this paired.
I know there is always this debate about whether one should age rose'. I've had this wine multiple times since release, and it is drinking very well tonight - maybe not quite as linear/bright anymore, but seemingly more complete & satisfying at this point.

Much better than the bottle we opened a year ago. Enjoyable rose although a touch sour. Still prefer the Pibarnon.
