  This bottle was hidden at the bottom of my cellar for few years. I think unconsciously I was reluctant to open it as I was convinced it would be way past.
  The cork has shrunk slightly and came out very easily intact.
  The color was deep golden.
  The nose was a unique experience; very intense aromas of tart tatin, pastry, marmelade, baked apricot, popcorn jump from the glass.
  It was almost like an old aged Chenin blanc sec from the Loire.
  Full body, high acidity keeping the wine together, a grainy texture in the mouth and delicious mouthful of baked apple and apricot, glazed lemon, pastry, spicy. Slight bitterness at the end.
  Exceptional length, body and texture in this 37 years old chardonnay.

  While I tasted this blind, I know the cellar this came from and this bottle was in virtually perfect condition. It had a medium yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose of citrus, almond paste, powdery quartz, and creme brulee was outstanding.
  
  In the mouth, this wine had a rich, glycerol texture balanced by great acidity. The wine's length was tremendous which left me wondering how this Premier Cru was channeling Grand Cru quality!
  
  This top notch wine will easily last 5-10 years in this condition.

  100% Puligny, this cuvée Karel de Graaf (I guessed '85 puligny), gracefully walking to the end of its life cycle, this wine still showed a very good balance, combined with very ripe tones in the nose and the taste.
  It was Karel, himself, who brought in the wine.
