Had fully blind with a 13 Shafer Relentless and a 13 Black Hills Syrah from BC.
The L'Ecole has a mild nose, no real distinguishable fruits, but holey smokes does it pack a lot of alcohol. It was decanted for 2 hours, but the alcohol never really dissipated - it almost burns your palette. None of us could tell it was a Syrah - we were thinking Malbec, or maybe a blend.
The L'Ecole was just "okay", and was everyone's least favourite of the 3 wines. The Relentless was the crowd pleaser, but exceptionally low QPR.

Harvey Steiman will LOVE this wine. Big core of ripe fruit, and perfectly correct--tastes good, and will offend no one. I just found it a little boring, a little lacking in some kind of character compared to the other wines on the table. Eh.

Very good value wine. Drinks better than the $22 price tag.
