Rose of carignan. Dark rose color, almost like a light Pinot. Rich strawberry and red berry aroma. Medium body, heavier than most roses. Acidic and semisweet at first, finishes quite dry and minerally. Unripened Strawberry and sour watermelon flavor with a late finish of grapefruit. Drank with a tuna burger and sriracha mayo. Dryness was immediately absorbed with food and it tasted like a lighter zestier wine. Not a wine for day drinking by itself on a hot day, but perfect for a meal.

With its dark pink, almost ruby-like colour and abundance of flavours, this rosé could almost pass for a gamay or even light pinot noir. The nose is full of red fruit - strawberry, raspberry, hints of cranberry - as well as floral notes, citrus, and tropical fruit. Upon tasting you find much the same, with the addition of melon, blackberries, and just a touch of spice/minerals. On top of all that, the slightest hint of fizz gives a spark when it touches your tongue - quite the introduction. Rosés are not generally my thing, but this one has certainly struck a chord!

Off dry. Great for a warm day on the patio.
