  • Similar to the bottle opened the prior evening, with just a touch more funk coming through. Loads of dark cherry fruit, clove and herb. Excellent.

  • Our penultimate bottle, decanted and followed for an hour+ with dinner. Ruby/crimson color just barely starting to show some bricking. Loads of bright cherry fruit, followed by cranberry, spices- clove perhaps- along with orange and just the slightest bit of earth. Overall, very bright and energetic. The palate follows the bouquet, with bright underlying acidity and a lingering finish. With air this adds a terrific herbal element and the fruit becomes darker in profile. This bottle is absolutely singing and was a perfect match for the grilled pork chops. 92+ for both Domino and I.

  • Popped and poured while doing some work in the cellar this afternoon. A bit light, showing just a hint of its age. This bottle has been standing for about six months so it's perfectly clear, all sediment caked to the bottom of the bottle. Black cherry, crushed rosemary and a bit of barnyard in the bouquet. On the lighter side of medium-bodied, and initially a bit thin in the midpalate, I would think this will flesh out as it breathes and opens. Black cherry and mineral tones on the palate, with just a hint of spice in the background.

About 90 minutes in, the last forty or so has been in a decanter. Black cherry and raspberry fruit, perhaps some pomegranate as well. Still has an herbal edge, and the funk has receded a bit and barely lurks in the background. There's a bit of pine forest in there as well. Indeed, it has put on some weight across the palate, and still shows plenty of red and black pinot fruit. This still punches well above its price point, and hopefully our final two bottles will show as well. 90 for me, 91 for Domino.

  • A good example of why I continue to buy Cameron, even with the higher risk of funky flaws, these wines sing when he avoids them. Caveat emptor on the chards, though ! Medium clear crimson. Nose has cherry and liquor. Initially tart, nicely oaked, tight. Raspberry, cherry, a bit grippy on the mouthfeel.

  • A perfect example of why I no longer buy Cameron. Dominated by VA, poured down the drain.
