  • This is a test: Can a "natural wine" age? I have had this wine for 2 years. Decanted off of some sediment. Ruby color with brick tones. It started out with a nice nose of red berries, stones, and earthy notes, but it faded somewhat quickly into some rusty oxidation. Medium to light body, somewhat tart, with cooked tart cherry flavors. Finishes very dry with light tannins. This wine did not pass the test.

  • Decanted 45 mins. ahead. Bricky garnet color, a few browish tinges. Nose has floral, plum, spice, and pomegranate notes. Light-bodied and nicely tart on the palate in a food-friendly way. Earthy berry flavors lead. The finish is longer than you might expect, with notable fine-grained tannins and a touch of ink. Bright and quaffable.

  • Warm and rich, slight coating glycerine mouthfeel. Dark berry fruits, some cured olives on the finish, and plenty of minerality. $55 at Rustic Canyon.
