  Beautiful - balanced and super sweet spot! Berries and a bit horse leather - very nice! Lovely wine!

  Animal, feral, wild berries and minerals. Classic Mortet in which he outperformed in 97.

  Giving and transperent on the palate. Drinking in the zone. Well-made for 97. A bit lighter than 98,01 and 02.

  The 1997 Lavaux was wine of the night - floral and mineral nose, modest soil sensations, palate was savory, red fruits, soil, good length. The 1995 was clearly more tannic (and this is something I have noticed more generally about the vintage). The 1999 unfortunately had very little to do with Burgundy.

  I am amazed at how much life was still in this 21 year old burgundy. The flavors were great (tasted better than it smelled). Very fortunate to have had this.
