Drinking wonderfully. Great mostly savory balance of black fruit, tobacco, pepper spice, soft tannins & long finish. Magnum with 20 minute filtered decant was perfect Easter celebration wine with lamb, roasted potatoes and asparagus. Yummmm

Decanted 45 minutes before service. In the glass, deep, inky indigo. On the nose, blueberries, raspberries, and honeysuckle. On the palate, pure dark fruit, coupled with an elegant texture and secondary notes of graphite, black pepper, and a hint of peach (I don't know if this was co-fermented with viognier, and it is just a hint, not more than that). Tannins assert themselves on the back palate, but not so assertive as to interfere with enjoyment of the wine.

A wine with some very nice structure, I am certain I'd rate it higher in just a few years. Displays a medium/dark purple color that is slightly lighter than I was expecting for a relatively new Syrah. The color actually is telling on how well the wine is restrained. Rather than open up as a fruit bomb, the bottle displays some very nice nuanced notes of blueberry marmalade, spices, and sweet tobacco. Very nice finish, with some rounded, but slightly present, tannins. I'd say peak drinking is 5yrs from now, even though a touch of acidity crept in at the end. But overall, an elegant, refined effort.
