Wonderful wine. Often, an 11 year old California Chardonnay is faded and unpleasant, regardless of its pedigree. Not this one. Still has nice fruit and subtle flavor nuances that are beyond my descriptive abilities. It is, however, giving hints of having reached its aging limit. I would not wait long to drink this.
Of the thousands of California chards I have tasted, this may be the best. Wonderful butterscotch nose and palate. Complex and vibrant, with real depth of flavors. Hard to imagine a better 10 year old Cal chard. I think you would have to go to the top white burgundies to beat this wine!
At its peak. A beautiful bottle of chardonnay. Straw colored. Nose of honey and green apple. A little toast. Very rich oily lemon/lime on the palate, finishing with salty minerals. Oak is noticeable. Great acid. Maybe some honeydew on the very long finish to accompany the salty minerals. Tasty stuff.
What a great bottle.medium yellow. Great lemon citrus golden apple toast nose Great balance great acid and structure. I think at its peak. This wine delivered you never know with aging Chardonnays but I am happy I had this to try and enjoy with family and friends
