Just uncovered these in the cellar - or would have drank them up several years ago. Did not decant due to concern that we might ‘lose’ her given her advanced age. Wow - to my very pleasant surprise, this is still drinking VERY well. It’s softened beautifully to a delightfully smooth, silky mouth feel. Yet still just enough acidity to nicely balance the beautiful, bright dark cherry, blackberry, currant, and vanilla flavors. Wonderful.

Far superior to the July 2019 bottle, this is a classically ripe and exquisite new world Pinot. Brilliant in color, shines in the glass and on the palate with bright red cherry, menthol and vanilla and a finish that fades to a lip-snacking ripe red berry. Entering a great 2-3 year drink window.

But if a family difference here. My wife loved the full body and ripeness, while I found it a bit flat and flaccid and overextracted at this stage. The bright and tart red fruit certainly is there, but time will tell whether it becomes anything special.

As others noted, it's a red fruit bomb up front, very pleasing and rich in the mid-palate but a little short in the finish.
