  • One glass coravined to check for faults. Great and elegant. Bottles was then dropped and smashed before dinner. Gutted

  • Medium ruby / garnet colored. Nice nose with soft cassis and wooden notes. On the palate savory cherries, blueberries, cassis, dark pepper and nice soft herbal notes. Medium (+) bodied with a refreshing acidity. Tannins are integrated nicely. Medium complexity but a very nice overall balance. Nice medium long finish.
This is in a nice spot, drink up within the next couple of years. (IG)

  • What Imigrator said below. I would add that there is much bottle variation in Radio Coteau so the next one might be better.

  • Ruby red color. Red berry and pine wood aromas; Bright red and blue berries, kalamata olive, tamarind, and mineral flavors on the palate with medium high acidity, firm tannins, and a medium-longish finish.

Although this is the wine (in the 2008 vintage) that began my great affinity for Syrah and GSM blends a few years ago, this vintage is more tart, angular, and thin in body than I care for now. I note this more as an observation for myself than a criticism of the quality of the wine, which may appeal to others.

  • What a gorgeous young Syrah from an always exceptional producer. Deep ruby color. Aromas of cassis, tart blueberries, tangy plums, mixed with tar, charcoal smoke, violets, cola, black tea - wow. Grippy tannins but not harsh, medium acidity, tangy but concentrated fruit. Blueberries, blackberries, saucy plums, laced with leather/meaty notes, tar, pepper, black olive, violets. These flavors will do awesome things in five to eight years, but the balance and evocative nature of this wine is impressive at this young age.
