  • Good provenance from Sommpicks and a very solid showing. Same bottle as nutty08. I was less enthusiastic though. Despite being structurally resolved it was quite fresh and red fruited, but a little angular, rustic, and two-dimensional enough that I didn’t think it was going to win any converts to burgundy.

  • Terrific wine. Really lively and aromatic despite the age. Really held up well over several hours. Forest and mushroom notes with hints of rhubarb. Bright palate--probably showing it's a little past peak--but still very vibrant and focused.

  • Came across this bottle in a Cannon Beach wine shop and went for it. Crumbling, wine-soaked cork. Surprisingly opaque ruby color. Billowing, piercing floral and iron-inflected nose with wafts of black cherry and rounded plum scents. Delicate yet steely layers of tangy raspberry and black cherry fruit mixed with iron granules and earth on the satin-textured palate. Lovely acidity and filed off tannin leading to a longer finish of ferric notes cut with chimes of shimmering red fruit. Very much alive at age 40, this wne exemplified the timelessness of wine. What an incredible treat.

  • Not a good bottle. Over the hill. no fruit.

  • Plenty of life left. Red cherries, spice, sandalwood, a touch of earth. Good acids, on the delicate/feminine side but not fragile, very happy with this. A-/B+
