Here's my note from 7 years ago: "This wine has almost as much of the non-fruit flavors as fruit. Black and blue fruit framed by earth, pepper, leather, and spices that linger nicely. Tannins are substantial and if I only had 1 left (!) it'll be 4-5+ years from now (see my 2022 Retro Tasting notes...). (2446 views)"

Elle gave a 93. Clear, deep purple, medium meniscus, high viscosity. N - Savory with asphalt, olive and dark fruit (plum, blue, blackberry). Fruit lightens on finish leaving asphalt, baking spices and coffee behind. Delish.

PNP. Notes of dark fruit, smoke, anise, tea, forest floor, and baking spice. High alcohol, med + tannin, med + acid. Initially a little hot but improved as the wine opened up.

Delicious Syrah from K Vintners. This one has loads of dark fruit (boysenberry, dark plums), some olive tapenade, violets and crushed stones. It is full of luscious minerality with firm, but sweet tannins holding everything together. It’s a gorgeous wine with a nose that wafts out of the glass from a meter away. Lush and silky, it has a finish that lasts for 30-45 seconds. Really nice.

The Nearly Annual Lyon 10 Year Retro Tasting #24, Wines of Washington (Lyon Again, Eugene, OR): Wow! What a turn around after the Anne Amie! Big, black fruit with hints of tar, leather, smoke, pepper and licorice. Loads of time!

Dark black and purple berries, light smoke and charred meat. Very nice and well balanced.
