Opened, poured into a decanter and then tasted. Grassl Cru glass. Tasted with food (chicken in a marsala mushroom sauce, in case you were wondering) and then on its own. Deep purple color. Nose of plum, cherry, blackberries and hint of cough syrup/medicinal alcohol note. Lots of dark fruits with good spice notes and acidity. Touch of cough syrup. A rich and dense wine. Saved half in a 375ml bottle and will check in again. Remains a big dark fruited wine. Alcohol shows a bit of heat.

Didn’t give this much air, but I did decant it briefly before serving. As is often the case with Mike’s Kenefick cabs, this is full of ripe blue and purple fruits. Coffee and some black pepper are present on both the nose and on the palate, along with a hint of licorice. The tannins are still noticeable but aren’t obtrusive. This is delicious, and we all loved it. No hurry on these.

Can't remember my last Quivet Kenefick, but this was seriously rock'in.
Remember it more fruit driven, but that super ripe fruit i remembered has given way to a stellar cab!!
This had serious notes of espresso, and some spice, along with all the major fruit groups!! On first PnP, got notes of black and red fruit, but as it gathered air, the secondary flavors opened up, as the red fruit faded, it added weight and great purple and blue fruits came in singing.
It definitely benefited with some air time, so if you can give a decant, think it would have shown more. Wish it lasted longer, but was gone in the blink of an eye... don't know if it will benefit more from any bottle aging, but think this bottling has a long life ahead of it, so no rush!

This has integrated well. Minimal tannins at this point. Dark ripe fruit and a bit of vanilla. Despite this being a well made wine, can hide the heat/alcohol of the finish which really shows on the finish.

The first of my six Quivet KR from 2013, and hopefully this was an off bottle. Color was good, but the nose and finish had an odd bell pepper/green note that I have never had from this wine or any other 2013. Normally this is a go-to wine for me, but this was just strange.
