This was good and probably consumed too early. Pure and young aromas of cherry, earth and herbs. Tough structure, but I don't think the mid-palate will eventually hold that structure. It should continue to blossom for several years, but this won't be anything special. Very honest and somewhat rustic. Continued to evolve in the glass showing blueberry at times.
Medium ruby core, pale cherry rim, orange tints. Good intensity on the nose with fresh, spicy and quite ripe red (cherry) fruit and some darker fruit notes. Attractive, if not overly complex. On the palate this still has plenty of structure with low/medium firm tannins and medium + acidity. Plenty of fruit too, with red cherries, spice and savoury notes on a decent length finish, with some of those firm tannins still evident at the tail-end. Enjoyable now, if perhaps a bit rustic, this certainly should improve over the next 2-3 years as it gains a little complexity.
