Medium dark garnet red with pink and slightly orange rim, slightly cloudy. Blackcurrant, blackberry, tobacco, pencil shaving, cigar box, spices, black pepper, saddle, lavender and earth. Full bodied, medium acidity, medium-high tannin, medium-high structure, medium alcohol and long finish.

Brilliant ruby. Aromas are peppery spicy campfire. An equal and opposite bright red fruit on the palate with richness and a roundness and completeness to the overall composition. This is up there with the most enjoyable US syrahs and am probably a bit low on the rating scale bc I know the exceptionally low price I paid!

Still kicking and quite beautiful! For a $10, this was a very pleasant surprise. Jammy fruit the Qupe is known for was not their and it showed the sweet fruit of age combined with the salinity from olive brine and the funk of good Syrah. At its peak for me.

Very nice wine with a little spice to it. Fruit was nice, with a slight bit of greene's mid palate. Acidity and tannins make this wine very enjoyable. Fully alive and kicking.

2nd of 2 bottles from recent auction purchase. This bottle was better than the first, with more remaining fruit and less VA. There was a little brett, however, that marred what was an otherwise very nice wine. Still drinkable and enjoyable, but would've been a real home run without the funky brett.
