Tasted over two days. Classic Saint-Julien bouquet. True to place and solidly structured, though lacking power. The most interesting element to this wine is a light oil-like texture that coats the palate and lingers for several seconds. Hoped for more boldness on the second day, which did not materialize. Nice closeout value at $16. Not so much at $30+.

Not much fruit on the nose, rather chalk and vegetal aromas. Pronounced tannins and solid acidity. Sour cherry and blackberry flavors are subdued. Tasted 2 hours after opening.

61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. not as mineral as the Mongravey 2012 Margaux. red and black fruit aromas, sea water, iron. some spice on the palate, more flesh than the 2012 Mongravey on the palate. 12 months in oak.

Love the nose
Spicy leather that is just soft and nice
Not as tannic as a St Emilion but still VERY nice
Easy wine but to quick of a finish
