Very nice wine, deep purple in color. Did not detect a lot on the nose, but the palate is well balanced with acidity, full body and medium tannins. There are notes of blackberry, plum, sweet spice and vanilla. A nice finish as well.

A Taste of Ferarri-Carano Summer Reds: Violet color with appealing roasted black and red fruit, bacon fat, and melange of spice aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and well-structured with a smooth texture and good acidity with black cherry, blackberry, a bit of plum and vanilla flavors. Lingering finish. Blend of 97% Zinfandel, 3% Petite Sirah. Aged in French Oak (33% new) for 16 months. 14.7% alcohol. SRP $28

Not the best Zinfandel, but it was drinkable. A little tart on the end. Not well integrated.

Great nose - I really enjoyed just walking down the stairs with the glass in my hand. Took about 20 min to open up but drinking well now.
