opened at Carbone Miami - still young high tannins but also lots of dark fruit notes - didn't have time for a proper decant only 20 min or so Should develop even better with more time in the bottle

Pergole Torte Vertical tasting (Freiheit Vinothek, Ulm, Germany): Glass: Zalto Universal and Burgundy Tasted blind. Clear deep youthful ruby color. Deep, warmer nose with some noticeable stems. Rounder and softer than the 2004 Montevertine, more powerful and expressive. Some noticeable stems giving the wine a good grip and structure. Long, fine finish. This needs 5+ years to fully blossom. Tasted blind in this flight we thought it is 2018 :) 93+

04/97/85. Not yet ready, especially in the context of the 97 and 85. This has so much fruit that is starting to show nuances of herb and spice but it still feels brooding and incomplete. Needs another 5-10 years.

Sangiovese study (Chicago, IL): Like the 2010 Cerbaiona, this wine felt a little more like potential than raw enjoyment right now. With the other older bottles in this flight, this sticks out as lacking the elegance of more matured vintages, and the big tannic structure on the finish here hides what I expect to be delicate red fruit and perfume.

Wonderfull clear colour, crisp and still fruity. Acid to match meat but also wonderfully developed. One of my best wine experiences for many months
