Angelus dinner. This was very closed versus the 2015 and still probably not the better wine. Needs at least a decade.

2 hour decant in glass. Inky purple w/ dark red edge in color. Pungent nose of espresso, mulberries, raspberries, wood spice and vanillin right off the bat. On the palate: red currants, vanillin and espresso. Tannins are exceptionally well integrated already, holding structure, but only barely perceivable on gums and cheeks. Long finish of mulberries, black licorice and wood spice. Wine is notable for its balance and intensity.

Absolutely beautiful. Lucious and elegant, dark plum, cassis, very fine tannins. Spent more time enjoying the wine than jotting down notes!

Decanted 2,5 hours. Young as expected but already very good. 94 pts. at the moment, with more age maybe even a higher rating.
