Initially Coravin'ed then popped and poured to consume with lamb chops. Brambles, crushed rocks; mineral notes, cedar, savoury almost saline underpin. Juicy, dark hued fruit, mineral notes again, slightly woody and slightly drying tannic grip rasps against the tongue and grips the back palate. A pleasant, though slightly rustic, midweek claret.

Coravin fun - 1995 & 2005 Bordeaux (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Crushed rock, black hued fruits, blackcurrant, cedar, a little plum, leather and yeast extract. Savoury, dark hued fruit and rocky minerality, tight chewy grape and wood tannins lends a little astringency but I find this quite compelling…Like the Le Crock there is a little rusticity but not an issue for me.

Dark core, burgundy rim. Spicy red fruit with leathery earth. Tart. Fruit. Classic Bordeaux. It is probably peaking. Has a Bretty note but just enough to give it character.

Simple but very enjoyable mature and elegant. A bit light but good.
