Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; Bordeaux, Pessac (@ RW): Smoky bouquet with dark berries and vanilla. On the palate dark berries, sweet spices, chocolate, vanilla, bell pepper and black olives. Also sweet licorice root. Good acidity and still slightly sticky tannin. Beautiful and elegant wine. Not a bit too old yet.

Subtle but very pleasing nose of ripe blackcurrants, with classic pencil lead just creeping in. Just a touch too acidic on the palate but otherwise quite a smooth and balanced finish with a light, mouth coating swirl of tannins. Not particularly complex but extremely palatable - I think will improve a little with time, but not a great deal. An excellent wine for drinking young.

20 pounds HV. Tired day before leaving for the Amalfi coast. Beautiful lovely nose of leather, cedar. Nice long finish - good tannins, earthy but elegant.

on opening rather tannic- about an hour later smooth as you like. Structured, silky, pencil lead and austere blackurrant

cedary, smooth light tannins very pleasant. not loads of fruit but classically austere. Drank with navarin of lamb and braised spring veg.
